Since 2004, Bishopton Basketball Club has been a good news story for the local community. We hope that this website provides potential sponsors with an opportunity to learn a bit about the club and what we do, and perhaps to consider being part of our success.
As we are very much a community club, our approach for sponsorship has initially been targeted at local companies or organisations. However, we appreciate that in today's financial climate, businesses and individuals have their own favourite charities or are unable to commit to any kind of contribution. That spells bad news for us, because in order for the club to reach its full potential, we need sponsorship!
Why Should I Consider Being A Sponsor?
In this day and age when too many young people choose to hang around streets and shops, or demonstrate their sporting skills in front of a TV screen or computer monitor, the Broncos provide an alternative, healthy distraction for our local youth. This includes competitive play, skills improvement, general fitness, table officiating, refereeing or coaching. We've demonstrated the far-reaching benefits to the community that the spirit of friendship and family has brought to our members and we really hope there is a sponsor out there who shares our vision and can contribute to this worthwhile venture.
Income from membership and training fees simply can't cover everything on our wish list which ranges from complete sets of team kit right down to a match ball. The expansion of the Bronco League means that new team kit and training tops are needed. Any potential kit sponsor would benefit from exposure to supporters and spectators at match nights. As well as advertising on team kit or training tops, there would be publicity in the form of corporate recognition in our website and on correspondence going out to the families of our members. Also, as can be seen in the Out and About and Community pages, a sponsor's logo would be visible during the course of the year when the club is out there in the local community and beyond, at tournaments, Glasgow Rocks and Globetrotters events, Bishopton Day and in regularly features in the local press.
Other areas of sponsorship exist in our need to buy and replace proper training equipment, the cost of coaches' courses and transport to external events.
If you are considering becoming a sponsor of the Broncos, please get in touch with the Sponsorship Coordinator, David Pollock (CoachP@bishoptonbroncos.com). Alternatively, if you would like to get some idea of the enthusiasm of our young people, why not come along to one of our Thursday training sessions between 4.00 and 7.00 pm at Erskine Sports Centre? Again, just get in touch with David to arrange a suitable time. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
